Public Service Announcement
On the off chance that this might possibly reach the ears of important game company personnel, or start a revolution, I must say...
If you are releasing press items to GamingReport.com or other game new sites, tell us what your release is really about in the title!
I skim the headlines from newsfeed from GamingReport.com. Telling me "January releases from JoyGameBuzz, Inc" doesn't tell me anything, unless I happen to be a big fan and know what kind of games they make. And if I'm a big fan, I probably don't need to read GamingReport.com to know about it.
Summarize what you're releasing. "Announcing new fantasy world line." "New Monstrous Mayhem character template: The Bouncer." Something that gives me some vague idea of what it is you're trying to sell me! See, remember that your press release is advertising. You want to hook me and get me to read more, so that I might become interested in what you sell.
There are many, many companies sending press releases to GamingReport.com. You need to make your company stand out, or you don't stand a chance of getting my daily two minutes devoted to reading about new releases.
