Cool roleplaying podcast...
Okay, I've discovered another podcast that really tops my list of "best roleplaying podcasts"... Dragons Landing Inn. They don't review games (game reviews are alright, but most of the time podcasters aren't reviewing games I'm interested in), and devote their (hour long!) show to discussing advice to players and gamemasters, pointing out products that are free or inexpensive but really useful, and so on.
Chuck and Lonnie are over in Springfield, MO, which is a bit more than a hop, skip and a jump from Wichita, but they visit the Kansas City Renaissance Festival (KCRF), which puts us in overlapping territory.
And while I'm at it, I've got some ideas for my own podcast brewing. Nothing really solid yet, but we'll see.
The investigation scene update...
I've started writing a response to the responses to the [[http://raven.phoenyx.net/mutterings/20050823.html|investigation scene post]], but I've got to do a lot of thinking on it (when did blogging become "essay writing"? :), so I'm waiting until I have a chunk of time to devote to it.
Which shouldn't be hard now. I work for an aircraft company that has been directly impacted by the Boeing IAM strike, and we've already been cut back to working three days a week. I'm financially fine... we've lived on one income for over five years, but Karen recently picked up some part-time contract work. They've got more than enough work to last her through the end of the year, so we're both working three days a week and still have extra to put in the bank. Just need to get my days organized. Right now, I'm looking forward to spending some time with one of the guys in my game who works second-shift and has busy weekends... I never get to see him outside of the game.
