A Top 40 photo challenge

One of DPChallenge.com's two open challenges this week is to create a photo based on one of the song titles from Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40 most requested songs of 2006. Nevermind that I find no such list on his site, and the list they point to is just the current week's Top 40. :)

But looking at the song titles, two things come to mind.

  1. I'm out of touch.
  2. This next generation is going to heck in a handbasket.

Which is what all nearly-40 parents have been saying since Adam and Eve turned 40. (Yeah, I can name five or six Prince tunes from the 80's with such direct titles... but you didn't hear Rick Dees playing any of them on the Top 40.)

As was noted by someone in the DPChallenge forums, you could justify a nude out of about half the titles. I'm not sure whether I should be looking forward to the entries or be afraid.

Of course, the clencher for "lamest challenge ever" is this: at #40, Nickleback's "Photograph". Now how could a guy get disqualified with that?

I think the hardest part of doing a challenge like this is having fifty themes to choose from and trying to narrow it down in time to shoot something in seven days. Maybe I'll just enter the Open Challenge "Black and White Portraits II" instead.
