Thankgiving Reunion photos
But I'm just talking about them, not showing them.
I've got over a hundred shots from our big family reunion on Thanksgiving, and I started sorting through them last night. Finally found a sorting method that mostly works quickly, and entirely from the keyboard, with Picassa.
There's nothing like discovering that the guy you handed your camera to, so you could be in the picture of your immediate family, has no composition skill whatsoever, and not only did he center the faces in the frame, he didn't notice that my 3.5-foot-tall son was supposed to be in the picture! Despite getting the top if his head in one picture, and a shot where my wife is picking him up and he's obviously part of the group. Unfortunately, that shot is totally inadequate because of the face my wife is making. (Which describes most photos of her, actually.) I'm tempted to put my GIMP skills to the test to see if I can cut him out of that photo and paste him into one of the others, where he'll look taller, but at least he'll be in the scene.
Other than that, it's going well as can be expected when you're looking at six shots of the same group, taken while the group was trying to look at three cameras at once. I should have taken my time and insisted that everyone look at me at the same time.
