Annoying power bricks
Have you noticed that both power strip manufacturers and power brick (AC adapters, "wall-warts") manufacturers are trying to solve the same problem... that power bricks are wider than the standard spacing between outlets on a power strip?
So the power brick guys are changing their form-factor... instead of a brick, they're now more like a cigarette pack, so they're no thicker than the space the outlet itself takes up.
At the same time, the power strip manufacturers are rotating the outlets on their strips 90 degrees, but keeping the narrow spacing for most or all of the outlets.
The two cancel each other out... now the slim-line power brick blocks the outlets on either side, instead of fitting perfectly into what used to be the standard power strip.
So I find myself looking for eight or nine outlet power strips, so I can plug in five things. I think the cheaper solution is to find 12" extension cords for my three power bricks. Or maybe I should do what I do at work... daisy-chain power strips, because two six-outlet strips are much cheaper than one eight-outlet strip, especially when you already own a six.
